That's Kelissa flying through the air!

Wow! This has been a busy week! No time to post! Chi went to the doctor and everything checked out. High school homecoming has been going on all week and since we are class parents, we have been helping build floats, decorate doors, have cookouts, etc. Kade's team won their game once again! Now they are 4-o. Kelissa's cheer competition placed third. Pep rally is today at 1:00 followed by a parade, and then the game tonight at 7:00 will get this week behind us. I know I sound like I'm ready for it to all be over and you're right! This has been a tough few weeks. It is time for things to slowwwwww down a bit. On a good note the weather has been beautiful!!! I love fall! It just makes me happy. Sitting outdoors watching the puppies play with Chloe and Chi close close on their heels is just priceless!

OK so now we have a dog. I don't know how we went from a dainty Yorkie, to a high maintanance Maltese, to a bengal cat, to end up with a RAT TERRIER?!??! Oh well, it was Kelissa's prize for getting her license. The first place we went after she got legal was to look at these puppies. Well of course we didn't leave without one! Kelissa's problem now is bonding issues! She wants it to love only her and as you can see we are all attached to it. It's a fight around her who is going to hold the new puppy. At least now our search is over! lol peace at last.

Kelissa has a softball game Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday of this week. She is now playing second base and doing a great job (In mom's opinion) ha Two more weeks until the season is over. It will be a welcome break.
School Board meeting Tuesday night.
Kade has a football game at Cordell on Tuesday. Yeah!!!!!!!!! 28-0 They are a great team. Kade played a little offense and a little defense. I don't know the positions. Too complicated
Kelissa has to cheer at Sayre on Friday. Hope it's not rained out?!?
Chi has his surgery Tuesday at 6:00 am. We got home about 3:00 yesterday. He NEVER cried!!! He amazed everyone in the hospital. He won the best patient award and now every one of the nurses want to have another baby!?! It really was amazing to watch what a 'big boy' he was. Today he is just walking a little funny and demanding a lot of attention.
This week is J.A. initiatiion for Kelissa. She was ousted from her bed at 5:00am and hauled off wearing 70's attire with a four inch heel on one foot and a two inch heel on the other and a batting helmet on her head etc. you get the picture? Have fun this week Kelissa!! Kelissa was sick on Tuesday and missed a day of initiation. I think it was a welcome sore throat. Today she is back at it. We had a knock on the door at 5:30 and they took off with her. No telling what is in store for her today.
Cason is just going to college and working all the time. We are so glad he is still home with us this year! Yesterday Cason did all the books including payroll with me at the hospital with Chi. Wow it amazes me how fast he learned the complexities of Peach Tree accounting!

Our Story in the News

An article was printed in today's paper covering our adoption story. I had reservations about doing a story since I am a rather private person. Though a book could be written on this chapter in our lives, I thought it hit the basics. I hope it will ignite a passion in another family to reach out to a child who is without hope. That is the purpose for the article. I hear so many people say "Wow! I don't know how you do it!" and in the same breathe say, "I'd like to do something like that." So many people never reach their dreams because that is just where it stops, as a dream and nothing more. I hope only that our family might inspire someone not to just dream, but to live out that dream.
