Thanksgiving Break

Kelissa's Thanksgiving break started a couple of days early.  She competed in the Miss Oklahoma Teen USA pageant last weekend.  Many friends were made as well as reacquaintances.  This four day event held my mother, me, Chloe, and Chi hostage to the hotel.  Imagine two toddlers at a beauty pageant!  We did take in the zoo and a couple of play areas.  Kelissa did really well.  She got fourth runner up and WON the swimwear competition!  I swore I'd never let her enter a pageant that did swimwear! She had a great time.  This is the top five.  All the girls were amazing!Maybe a bit sad here. But...... always keeps it in perspective. Then we made a quick trip to Dallas to see Jeff's dad and Lisa.  I got the crew out in front of the house for a quick picture. This is Chi showing off, which is his new thing to do.  He is ALL boy!!!

Don't all of you make your kids ride like this, or is it just my little Mayan Indian. When we got back from Dallas we had our family "Road Warrior" day out.  We loaded up the kids, four wheelers, and some good food and went off roading.  Since Kade had just seen Road Warriors we had fun reinventing the movie Sanders' style.                     Kade  KelissaCasonDaddy, Chloe and ChiWe found this old boxcar and the temptation was there for chloe to climb it of course, so we all did.  Getting all my kids together is quickly coming to an end since Cason will be leaving for OSU next semester.  This was a very special time. All my precious cargo! Then we came home and decorated the tree.  This is one BIG tree!  Chloe tells everyone who sees it that there's no decorations at the top!  There's a reason for that!  Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving!

When I said Handsome... Did I Also Mention Beautiful?

You had to have read the previous post to get the title.  Are these pictures not adorable!!  Jessica (Mudpies and Butterflies Photography) did these last Sunday.  She was awesome!  Believe it or not, this is the first professional photos I have had done of the two of them.  They just were not ready until now, but as you can see they had a great time!  I will be getting about a hundred more photos to brag about soon.  Hope you enjoy!

I'm Back! With Updates

Well of course to start with I have not posted in a LOOOOOOOOOng time! So much has happened since school started I don't know where to start. Cason is famous, or at least in his lil world he was pictured on the spring enrollment schedule of his college. So many people have made mention of it he feels a little like a celeb.

Cason is transferring to OSU for the spring semester. He and I will go on Thursday and find a place for him to live as well as go through the orientation. He is so ready to go, not so much his mother ready to let him! He has been at Altus for three semesters and I know it's time for him to go but still not so easy. He is majoring in Chemical Engineering and so far has a 4.0 gpa, hope that stays that way when he gets to Stillwater :)

Kelissa has been in fall softball, cheerleading, and a bit of cross country. Her life is always full. She decided to compete in the Miss Oklahoma Teen USA pageant on Nov. 19-21. She decided four weeks before the date so she has been working out non stop. It's nothing for her to do a three hour workout after school, so not seeing a lot of her these days.

Kade just finished up Middle School football. They had a good season. He is doing weight lifting now. He is competing today in the AFR speech contest and if he wins will go to State. He sort of has his sister's skills in public speaking so I'm hoping for the best. He is a bit of a celeb himself right now, everyone thinks he looks like the teen heart throb, Justin Beiber. You should see his "One Time" impression.

Chloe is rotten. She has a large vocabulary and uses it on all of us! She is starting dance in a couple of weeks. She did cheer camp (sort of) and is just charming us to death. We are still pinching ourselves to make sure this is all real.

Chi is getting ready for his third birthday. He is so excited, but still prefers to be 'the baby'. He is getting over a bit of his shyness. This is making him a rather 'rowdy' boy, but who cares. He seems very bright and still 'loves' his grandma. I don't care, I'm the mom, but this boy is handsome!!

Chloe and Chi have been home two years as of October 16th. It is still hard to believe.  They are both doing so well. Better than we deserve. We are so blessed and thankful. My babies are growing up so fast!...all five of them. Life is fun in the Sanders' household, we just need more 'time' to slow down.

Back to School

Kade after first day of school.
Kelissa and Michaela getting Kelsey ready for J.A. initiation at 5:30 in the morning.
I don't know............. did she hit it or not?

It's been a long time since I sat down to post, mostly because we've been so busy but partly I just got burned out! This summer passed by way too quickly and now that we're back in school I'm going through my normal doldrums. I'm the only Mom I know who dreads school starting. I don't know why. I just like my kids at home with me. This is the first year Cason is living away from home, forget that it's only 30 miles away, it's still weird around here without him. I feel like one of my little chicks fell out of the nest and I need to go looking for him. Ha ha! He'd kill me! Kelissa has brown hair. That's a first. I don't particularly like it, but then of course she LOVES it! Chi is officially potty trained! Never thought it would be so easy. Where is my baby boy! Girl's softball is in a winning season. That is a first! We are having four to five nights a week of softball. It is wearing us all out! Kade starts football this Thursday. High school starts on Friday. I'm back to working full time again since Cason is off to college. Not my favorite thing with chasing all these kiddos! Chloe is in her independent 'do it myself stage' so I rarely get to help her with anything anymore...... Oh, gotta go. I see everyone piling out of the feed truck. Time to get dinner on the table!
